Roulette is a simple game to play. There are no sequential or conditional moves. Once the player places his bets his role is over. The rules of roulette focus on the types of bets available. There are two types of bets known as inside and outside bets.
Inside Bets
Bets ranging from single numbers to a group of six numbers constitute inside bets. They are called inside bets because the chips for these bets are usually placed inside the main block. The inside bets are as follows.
A straight bet is a bet on a single number. The chips for this bet are placed within the number square.
A split bet is a bet on two adjoining horizontal or vertical numbers. The chips for this bet are placed between the numbers.
A street bet is a bet on the three numbers of a row. The chips for this bet are placed on the edge of the row.
A square bet is a bet on four numbers in a square layout. The chips for this bet are placed at the center of the four numbers.
A sixline bet is a bet on two adjoining streets. The chips for this bet are placed at the edge between the two streets.
Outside Bets
The bets on twelve or eighteen numbers are the outside bets. They are called outside bets because the chips for these bets are usually placed outside the main block. The outside bets are as follows.
An even money bet is a bet on 18 numbers (half the total numbers). There are three types of even money bets - red versus black, first 18 versus last eighteen and even versus odd. The chips for these bets are placed on special boxes outside the main block.
A group bet is a bet on the first, second, or third group of twelve numbers. The chips for these bets are placed on special boxes outside the main block.
A column bet is a bet on the vertical lines. The chips for this bet are placed below the column.
